Vehicle to vehicle communications, or allowing cars to talk to each other to avoid accidents and to optimize travel sounds like science fiction. At best, it seems like something that we may be able to look forward to in ten years. This is not the case, however, the technology is here and it is ready to go.
Will Be Available for Purchase by Year’s End

General Motors has already announced that Cadillac CTS sedans will come equipped with the technology by the end of the year. Since the technology is ready to be used and available to other car companies, it is highly unlikely that GM vehicles will be the only ones that make the feature available in their cars. By the end of next year, we can probably expect to see a plethora of different types of vehicles with the smart options included.
