About TechConsumer
Welcome to TechConsumer, a place that follows technology with the consumer in mind: gadgets, software, media, online communities, computers, gaming, etc. The site is a mix of tech news, product reviews, and user-submitted stories. If you’re interested in what topics we cover specifically, check out our Archives & Index page which has a listing of our main categories.
Most everything we discuss is from within the context of the individual technology consumer. In fact, we encourage anyone interested in voicing their opinion on any aspect of tech consumerism to participate via registering and submitting a story.
How submitting a story works:
At this point, the guidelines are fairly loose. Most any story — positive or negative — can be submitted (click here to register) as long as it involves your experience as a consumer using some sort of technology. Once submitted, it’ll be placed in a queue to be reviewed before going live on the site. But most everything will go live; we just want to make sure it looks pretty first and reserve the right to fix your spelling and grammar errors!
Who runs this site?
TechConsumer was started by Bob Caswell with the help of friends. And no, I’m not the screenwriter Bob Caswell responsible for ABBA: The Movie.
My background includes three years in the late nineties working at a local white-box computer store followed by six years or so of IT consulting for small businesses. In 2002, I also formed my own company focused on providing computer support for households, Bob’s HouseCall Computers. I have since sold my company and am now pursuing my Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Purdue University.
