Camping today really is not what it used to be, we have become so reliant upon our devices that we just want to have them with us regardless. Well, you know that’s okay because, come on, they can actually be really handy especially if you have to figure out if the thing your kid just ate is poisonous. The trouble, however, is that battery life is finite and if you are on extended sleep out you may need some alternative power source. There are those compact generators that you can buy for hundreds of dollars and which are still kinda heavy. Alternatively, there are a range of small solar devices that can get you some charge. One of the best little gadgets on the market right now though is a clever camp light with some cool added features.
The Goal Zero Lighthouse 250 lantern not only can hold enough battery for 2 full days of camping on its own but it also has extras. You can hand crank this lamp to recharge the battery, giving you extra light longevity which I think is cool enough. However, you can also charge your other vital devices from this gadget although it will drain the battery more quickly to do so. It may take a fair bit of cranking to have enough energy to run everything you have with you, but this is a lightweight little power plant that has its own camping function. As of yet there is no word on how much these are going to run you but hopefully they will be reasonable compared to the company’s other higher priced power creators.
