I would say that there are 3 extensions that I absolutely need (from most to least), Google Bookmark Sync (or some other *reliable* bookmark sync service), Firebug, and Adblock Plus. ABP and Firebug have beta extensions that are supposed to work with FF3, but last I checked there weren't any reliable bookmark syncing extensions.

BTW, IE8 includes a program like Firebug now, and as IE8 just uses shortcuts in folders for bookmarks (talk about KISS) you can use FolderShare (which I already do) to sync bookmarks/favorites. There isn't a great adblocking add-on for it yet though.

Let's not forget about most people don't even know what an extension is. And for some of us, we kill all history, cookies etc. at every close (kiss, keeping things simple). Some of us hate MS and would use anything other than IE, if for nothing else for all those bad early versions, but firefox works great for me with four extensions - the best being adblock plus. Maybe you don't really need 11 extension! And, finally, its a whole lot better than a typewriter...
