div>I use Flickr all the time at work. I need access to good images that use a Creative Commons license. So you can imagine my surprise when I hopped on the Flickr Creative Commons page. Notice anything strange? As of this writing, there are roughly 18,000 ‘attribution’ pictures. That’s a decent number, but nowhere near the number of images that were there just a few short weeks ago. Check out the wayback machine. That’s right, images in CC were counted in the millions, not tens of thousands.

I personally release all my pictures under a CC license. I did a search for one of my photos and the search in the CC area yielded nothing. So the pictures are there, but for some reason the CC search is not recognizing them.

Has anybody else seen this before? Hopefully it’s a small glitch that will be corrected soon.

UPDATE: Flickr is quick. Within 15 minutes of first spotting the problem, all of the CC pictures appear to be back. To show that we’re not making things up here at TechConsumer, you can see a screen shot of the Flickr site here.
